Each year the Mayor of the City of Baltimore joins with the Greater Baltimore Committee and the Baltimore Development Corporation to recognize businesses that have demonstrated significant corporate leadership and service in improving the quality of life in Baltimore. We invite you to nominate a deserving company for the 2017 Mayor’s Business Recognition Award.
The awards are given for specific activities or projects that have significantly benefited the Baltimore community and are outside the regular mission or day-to-day work or activities of the business. For example, in past years, BB&T organized a team to participate in the United Way of Central Maryland’s 5th Annual Project Homeless Connect. The team included more than 90 bankers from the retail and commercial banking groups, operations associates, investment counselors, credit partners and market presidents. Saul Ewing LLP was honored for promoting a clean harbor through Blue Water Baltimore, and for mentoring high school students in city public schools through the Community Law in Action program. MECU was recognized for helping hundreds of organizations throughout the city to celebrate their neighborhoods through the MECU Neighborhoods Events Grants program. PNC Bank was acknowledged for its “Growing Up Great” initiative, which supports enrichment programs to prepare children from birth to age 5 for success in school and life.
Nominations must be received by October 6, 2017.
Please take a moment to consider nominating a deserving company to be honored for its initiatives to improve the quality of life in our community. Self nominations are accepted and encouraged. The Mayor’s Business Recognition Awards Luncheon will be held December 6, 2017 at the Renaissance Baltimore Inner Harbor Hotel.
To nominate a deserving company (not an individual), fill out the information below for each activity or project for which the company is being nominated. Projects will only be considered if completed during the time frame of July 1, 2016 to the present. The awards are given for specific activities or projects that have significantly benefited the Baltimore community and are outside the regular mission or day-to-day work or activities of the business. Nomination form must be accompanied with supporting documentation for each activity or project to be considered and must include the following:
- Description of the project
- Number of people who benefited by the project
- Number of people who participated or volunteered for the project
- Overall impact or effect of the project
- Company logo (jpg or bmp – must be sent electronically to email@example.com)
- At least 3-5 photos from the event (must be sent electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org)
