AFCEA’s Fourth Annual Race for Excellence 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run

The Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association (AFCEA) Central Maryland Chapter is holding the 4th Annual Race for Excellence 5K and 1-mile fun run. The race will benefit AFCEA’s Central Maryland Scholarship Fund, which provides merit-based scholarships to local high-school students. After raising more than $136,000 last year, this year’s event has an expected record-breaking crowd of more than 800 participants.

It will take place at 6841 Benjamin Franklin Drive, Columbia, Md. 21046 on April 9. Registration/packet pick-up opens at 7:30 a.m. and opening remarks/dignitary’s address will begin at 8:40 am. The race starts at 9 a.m.

This event will be attended by Ken Ulman, Howard County Executive (invited), Larry Cox, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager, and the Oriole Bird, mascot of the Baltimore Orioles.
