Applications available for PNC Bank Neighborhood Grant Program

The PNC Bank Neighborhood Grant Program is now accepting applications for events taking place in summer and fall 2009. This program continues to provide financial assistance to qualified neighborhood associations and community-based nonprofit groups that build up the communities they serve.

The awarded grants enable organizations to produce special events that strengthen neighborhoods and engage its residents. Cash grants in the amounts of $200 to $1000 can fund various activities including street festivals, parades, flea markets, concerts, health fairs, fundraisers, back-to-school rallies and more. The PNC Bank Neighborhood Grant Program is presented by Mayor Sheila Dixon, produced by the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts and sponsored by PNC Bank.

Entries will be judged by the selection committee based on grant program criteria. Events must benefit community residents and be open to the public. The application deadline for neighborhood events that will take place in July through December is May 4 by 5 p.m. An application can be downloaded online at or obtained by calling (410) 752-8632 and should be mailed to the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts, 7 E. Grant recipients are required to send one representative from the organization to attend a grant workshop on methods for effective event planning, funding, logistics, public relations and volunteers.
