Ballard Spahr announces Lila Shapiro-Cyr elected secretary of MSBA’s Real Property Section

Lila Shapiro-Cyr, a partner in the Baltimore office of Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP, has been elected Secretary of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Real Property Section.

The section is the primary professional association for Maryland attorneys specializing in real estate and land development law. Members educate their peers and the public on Maryland real property law and study proposed improvements and reforms to real estate and property law.

Shapiro-Cyr is a partner in Ballard Spahr’s Real Estate Department and a member of the Housing, Real Estate Development and Real Estate Leasing Groups. She represents public housing authorities in redevelopment efforts and commercial property owners and developers in connection with real estate acquisitions, development, leasing and financing. She specializes in shopping centers and urban developments.

Shapiro-Cyr is a member of the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore’s Business and Economic Development Committee and the International Council of Shopping Centers. She serves on the Acting Board of Advisors for the Maryland Public Interest Law Project and is a fellow of the American Bar Association Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section. Shapiro-Cyr is the former chair of the Code Revision Committee for MSBA’s Real Property Section and was recently selected to be a fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation.
