Ballard Spahr Attorney Lila Shapiro-Cyr elected Vice Chair of MSBA Real Property Section

Lila Shapiro-Cyr, a partner in the Baltimore office of Ballard Spahr LLP, was elected Vice Chair of the Real Property Section of the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) at the organization’s annual meeting.

The Real Property Section of MSBA brings together members of the bar with a special interest in the law relating to real property, including construction, eminent domain, foreclosure, land development, land records, leasing, real estate financing, title and zoning, and to further the study, development and improvement in such law. Ms. Shapiro-Cyr was previously the Chair of the Legislative Liaison Committee of the Section.

Ms. Shapiro-Cyr represents clients in connection with real estate acquisitions, development, leasing, and financing. Her clients include owners and developers of commercial real estate properties. Her practice focuses on shopping center and urban development, and she is a member of the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore’s Business and Economic Development Committee. Ms. Shapiro-Cyr also has significant experience in complex mixed-finance affordable housing, representing a variety of public-housing authorities in ongoing redevelopment efforts.
