Ballard Spahr lawyer Sophie Dagenais named to advisory board of Maryland Clean Energy Center

Sophie Dagenais, a partner in the law firm of Ballard Spahr LLP, has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the Maryland Clean Energy Center.

Dagenais is an inaugural member and the first attorney named to the 48-person Advisory Board.

The Maryland Clean Energy Center was created during the 2008 Maryland General Assembly session to promote clean energy economic development and jobs, encourage deployment of clean energy technologies, and provide outreach and support to further the State’s clean energy industry.

Dagenais’ practice focuses on real estate, business and transactional matters with an emphasis on real estate finance and development and energy. She represents financial institutions, institutional lenders and advisers, investors, borrowers, developers, investment banks, pension funds, and municipalities in a variety of complex economic development transactions. She frequently represents clients in the development and financing of environmentally-progressive ventures, including solar, wind and biomass projects.
