BBJ applauds GBC for “Boost for Baltimore Restaurants” campaign

The Baltimore Business Journal gave the Greater Baltimore Committee a “thumbs up” for its “Boost for Baltimore Restaurants” campaign in the July 17 issue of the newspaper.

The recognition came in the BBJ’s “Gainers & Losers” section.

“The advocacy group is encouraging companies to eat out on July 14 to boost restaurant business,” the BBJ reported.

The GBC urged its members to participate in the campaign in an effort to provide a needed financial shot in the arm to the city’s restaurant industry, which has had some tough weeks since the civil unrest in late April and the ensuing curfew.

It is estimated that half of the GBC board of directors and an additional 75 member companies participated in the “Boost for Baltimore Restaurants” campaign on July 15, engaging about 1,000 of their employees for lunch or dinner.
