One of Baltimore’s most famous hotels is now serving as a triage site for Baltimore Covid-19 patients with low-level symptoms.
The downtown hotel is now partnering with the Baltimore City Health Department and local health care providers, including the University of Maryland Medical System, to house vulnerable local residents.
The option isn’t intended for patients with severe symptoms, but rather individuals with lesser symptoms who are living in multi-generational households, said Health Commissioner Dr. Letitia Dzirasa at a press conference. It’s also geared toward immigrants, people experiencing homelessness, front-line workers who do not want to risk infecting others at home and other people who are having trouble self-isolating, she said.
