The following is an excerpt from the original Baltimore Business Journal article.
MedStar Health has promoted two of its hospital presidents to larger roles as part of a reorganization of its leadership structure.
Bradley S. Chambers, currently the president of MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital and MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, will take over as senior vice president and chief operating officer, Baltimore region. Michael C. Sachtleben, currently president of MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, will assume the same title for the Washington region. Both promotions go into effect July 1.
In the new roles, the two will act as the “strategic market lead” for their respective regions and the presidents of each region’s hospitals will report to them, MedStar said in a statement to the Baltimore Business Journal on June 14. In addition, Chambers will oversee the leadership of MedStar Health Home Care and Sachtleben will oversee MedStar National Rehabilitation Network. The two will also keep their local hospital president roles as part of the promotion.
Chambers has been with MedStar since 1995. He became vice president of operations at Union Memorial in 1998 and took over as president of the hospital in 2009. In 2015, he added president of Good Samaritan to his titles.
Sachtleben became president of the Georgetown hospital in 2016. Prior to that, he served as the hospital’s chief operating officer and as the executive director of the MedStar Georgetown Physician Group.
