Maryland’s fiscal challenges relating to the economic downturn will be a key topic of the Greater Baltimore Committee’s 2009 Legislative Forum on January 26. Speakers will provide updates on efforts to address declining state government revenues and to close gaps in the state budget and other pressing topics that are likely to dominate in the General Assembly session in Annapolis.
Legislative leaders will provide an insider’s view of Governor O’Malley’s FY 2010 budget, the Governor’s legislative agenda, and top policy priorities of the Democratic and Republican caucuses. Additionally, a special portion of the Legislative Forum will focus on the potential impact that President-elect Obama’s agenda may have on state policy directions and budgetary matters.
The 2009 Legislative Forum will be held at the Sheraton Baltimore City Center Hotel. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the program will start at 8:15 a.m.
