Capitol College hosted the Jan. 13 chapter meeting of the InfraGard Maryland Members Alliance, entitled Protecting America’s Infrastructures Critical for Sustaining Human Life: Public Health, Food/Agriculture, and Emergency Services. The IMMA welcomed keynote speaker Congressman John Sarbanes to discuss the importance of information assurance in the public health arena.
Other presenters at the meeting included Richard McFeeley of the Baltimore FBI; Kevin Wood, the critical infrastructure coordinator of the Maryland State Police; Dr. Al Romanosky of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; Stephan York, chief of plans, policy, and outreach, Office of Health Affairs, Department of Homeland Security; and Patrick Beggs, director of the Cyber Security Evaluation Program, National Cyber Security Division, Department of Homeland Security. IMMA Programs Director Ken Crockett of Capitol College, and IMMA President Allan Berg, formerly of Capitol College, delivered the welcoming remarks.

InfraGard is an information sharing and analysis effort serving the interests and combining the knowledge base of a wide range of members. At its most basic level, InfraGard is a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the private sector. InfraGard is an association of businesses, academic institutions, state and local law enforcement agencies, and other participants dedicated to sharing information and intelligence to prevent hostile acts against the United States.
