The Center Club named a Platinum Clubs of America® Top City Clubs

The Center Club, Baltimore’s exclusive premier private dining and business club, announced today that it has been named one of the country’s Top 50 City Clubs for 2016-2018 by Platinum Clubs of America. This is the second time in the Center Club’s history that it has been recognized as one of the Top City Clubs of America, moving up four spots in the rankings.

Since 1997, Platinum Clubs® of America has been the most respected recognition in private club recognition. The Platinum Clubs of America represent the top 5% of the country’s private clubs and are chosen based on a vote circulated to club leaders across the country. The following criteria are considered while voting: universal recognition, excellence in amenities and facilities, caliber of staff and professional service levels, quality of membership, governance and prudent fiscal management, adapting to changing times, and overall quality.

“This honor truly exemplifies The Center Club’s commitment to its members and the city of Baltimore,” said David Nevins, president of The Center Club’s Board of Governors. “Our staff and board members continuously strive to enhance the membership experience and fulfill our legacy by providing an unparalleled quality of service to our members and affiliates.”

The Center Club has seen significant growth in recent years, gaining more than 300 new members this year alone. The club has shifted its culture to create a more social environment for members, with monthly events geared toward young members and their families, cultural events and educational speakers. The club also offers more casual dining and beverage programs in its Bar 100 and the Orioles Pub.

About The Center Club

The Center Club was established by a group of Baltimore business and community leaders in 1962, the same year as the completion of the first building in the then new Charles Center. The mission of the Center Club was to provide a private dining and meeting place that exemplified the spirit, revitalization and growth taking place in downtown Baltimore. At a time when country clubs and business dining clubs were exclusive, The Center Club was the first of its kind to open its doors to members, regardless of race, gender and religion. That spirit is alive today, providing the business community with a facility that offers the highest quality dining and service in a congenial atmosphere. Serving 2,000 members, The Center Club now occupies the 15th and 16th floors of 100 Light Street, and offers members private meeting rooms, numerous special events, and reciprocal privileges with 90 private clubs in major cities worldwide.
