CEOs develop strategies for improving competitiveness

More than 60 CEOs participated in the GBC’s day-long 2013 Chesapeake Conference on Competitiveness June 12 at the Hilton Baltimore. At the conference, CEOs vigorously discussed issues related to improving competitiveness for business development in the region and state.

The conference was hosted and moderated by GBC Chairman Brian Rogers, chairman and chief investment officer of T. Rowe Price Group, and GBC President and CEO Donald C. Fry. The conference featured presentations on competitiveness from Congressman John Delaney, MD-6th and economist Anirban Basu. CEO participants also heard from NBC Senior White House correspondent Chuck Todd, who delivered remarks at the conference luncheon.

CEO observations, priorities and recommendations from the conference, along with results from a pre-conference CEO survey and feedback sessions with private-sector business advisory councils, will be compiled into a GBC report on strategies for success to be published in late summer.
