Contemporary Printmakers Discuss Their Trade at BMA

The Baltimore Museum of Art features a free event Dec. 3 at 2 p.m., where award-winning artists Daniel Heyman and Andrew Raftery discuss their work with master printer Brian Garner, founder of the Litho Shop, a fully equipped printmaking studio in Baltimore.

Guests can post their questions pre-event on the Baltimore Museum of Art Facebook page. A reception will be held in Fox Court after the Artist Talk, where attendees will get the chance to talk with artists and art lovers while enjoying refreshments. Signed books will also be available for purchase.

Heyman’s work has been exhibited in major institutions across the country and has been acquired by prominent collections. He is a 2010 Guggenheim Fellow in fine arts and a 2009 Pew Fellowship in the Arts recipient.

Raftery trained in painting and printmaking at Boston University and Yale. His work has been exhibited internationally and is held in many private and public collections. He is currently a Professor of Printmaking at Rhode Island School of Design.
