CSD Architects announce leadership of sustainable design group

In a reflection of the firm’s commitment to all things green, CSD Architects has elected a formal leadership team to its in-house sustainable design group. The “Green Team,” as it is known, promotes the practice of sustainability both inside and outside of the firm to favorably impact the built environment.

The Team elected Frederika Eilers, LEED AP, as its chairman. Eilers will guide the direction of the group in general and serve as a catalyst in the firm’s commitment to sustainability as the rule, rather than the exception. Eilers joined CSD in 2006 and currently serves as a project designer in the firm’s education studio.

Team initiatives to date include the creation of both a LEED exam study group and professional development programs that focus on sustainable design, as well as the planning of initiatives to green our own office. Such initiatives include the design and installation of compact, one-of-a-kind bike racks to encourage alternative commuting options, and the design and installation of an in-office living wall.

CSD Architects is a 65-person architecture and interior design firm headquartered in Baltimore, with offices in Dallas and Denver. Consistently ranked as an industry leader, CSD practices the philosophy of people architecture, where building strong relationships is as important as building quality structures.
