The 2022 Maryland General Assembly Legislative Session is in its final days. Today, we are expecting an announcement of legislative vetoes from Governor Hogan. Both the Senate and House of Delegates will hold floor sessions over the weekend to consider veto overrides as well as to advance more legislation through the process prior to the close of session at midnight on Monday, April 11, or Sine Die.
Monday marks not only the last day of the 2022 90-day legislative session, but also the end of the last session of the four-year legislative term. With a number of long-serving members retiring or running for other elective office, and others who may not be successful in their re-election efforts, the General Assembly membership will look much different next year. The Greater Baltimore Committee will monitor election activity and the resulting changes to legislative leadership and committee make-up, and will keep the membership informed.
