Maryland Works, Inc. will be hosting the 6th Annual Employment Awards Luncheon and special morning presentation on the “State of the State on Employment for People with Disabilities” on Thursday, October 10 at the Marriott BWI Airport Hotel. The morning presentation is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by the awards ceremony luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Donald C. Fry, President & CEO of the Greater Baltimore Committee will be giving the keynote address. Fry has been president of the region’s most prominent organization of business and civic leaders since November 2002. Since that time his vision for the GBC has included initiatives such as developing a diverse and well trained workforce in the Baltimore region.
The 6th Annual Employment Awards is Maryland’s premier event to recognize and celebrate achievement of employment, economic advancement and business ownership opportunities for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
The morning presentation on the “State of the State on Employment for People with Disabilities” will have a panel of experts addressing the current state and national status of employment for people with disabilities. Represented on the panel will be the Maryland Department of Disabilities (MDOD), Mental Hygiene Administration (MHA), Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS), TransCen, Inc., and a national disability and employment advocate.
Maryland Works, Inc. is a statewide membership association that expands employment and business ownership opportunities for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
