Chris Eddings, president of The Daily Record and vice president of The Dolan Company’s Business Information Division, will retire at the end of September.
“I think this is the right time for me to step away from a 41-year career in publishing and 17 years of progressive responsibility with this company,” said Eddings. He will be assisting in a transition to a new Dolan Company leadership team until Sept. 30.
“Having successfully weathered the Dolan Company’s bankruptcy over the past year and with a new CEO in place along with new owners, it’s time to begin the next chapter of my life,” he said.
Prior to coming to Maryland in 1996, Eddings, a Massachusetts native, published newspapers in New England and in Texas and also worked in Germany for three years as general manager of the European Edition of The Stars & Stripes.
Eddings and his family will remain in Baltimore, where he is actively involved in a number of civic and community activities, including as a director of the Greater Baltimore Committee as well as of the MDDC Press Foundation.
