Ellin & Tucker, the Baltimore-based public accounting and business consulting firm, announced today that Kim Fusco, CPA, principal at the firm, has been elected board president of Disability Rights Maryland. As president, Fusco will be responsible for furthering the organization’s mission to advance the civil rights of people with disabilities. She will serve a one-year term.
“As someone who has family members with disabilities, I have always felt a strong personal affinity toward Disability Rights Maryland and the amazing work it does in the community,” Fusco said. “I am honored to serve a nonprofit that does so much to advocate for disabled individuals and I look forward to leading the organization into its 40th anniversary year.”
Disability Rights Maryland provides free legal advocacy services to Marylanders with all types of disabilities, of all ages. The organization focuses on achieving significant, lasting systemic change that improves the lives of people with disabilities, stabilizes families and strengthens the community. Fusco has a longstanding history with Disability Rights Maryland having served on the board since December 2013, serving as both board treasurer and finance committee chair.
Fusco’s commitment to nonprofits extends into the workplace as well.
