Carl Kampel, CPA and director in charge of professional standards at Ellin & Tucker, Chartered, authored an article, “Why Privately-Held and Family-Owned Businesses Should Have Independent Boards of Directors” for Financial Executive, the award-winning flagship publication of Financial Executives International (FEI), providing senior-level financial executives with financial, business and management news, trends and strategies.

As director in charge of professional standards, Kampel advises clients on financial reporting for complex transactions and represents the firm before financial reporting, standard-setting organizations. He is a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board’s Emerging Issues Task Force, the Board of Directors of the Baltimore chapter of FEI and co-chair of the Baltimore chapter of the Financial Executives Networking Group. He is also past president of FEI’s Baltimore chapter.


Promotion announced at Ellin & Tucker

Ellin & Tucker, Chartered, a leading regional certified public accounting and business consulting firm, announced Whit MacCuaig has been promoted to supervisor in the audit, accounting and consulting department of the firm.

MacCuaig interned with Ellin & Tucker during college and joined the firm immediately following graduation. He attended the University of Baltimore, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting. MacCuaig is currently working on a Master of Business Administration degree from Loyola University of Maryland.
