About Michael Moore
As the CEO of Tradepoint Atlantic, Moore and his leadership team are implementing a master plan to transform Sparrows Point into a world-class transportation, manufacturing and logistics hub.
With more than 30 years of multi-modal, multi-commodity transportation and logistics experience, Moore brings to Tradepoint Atlantic expertise as an accomplished global executive who has built and grown multi-billion dollar organizations in the transportation, terminal operations and logistics industries.
Most recently, Moore served as CEO and President of Global Container Terminals. There he was responsible for approximately 3,000 employees and a $2.4 billion market cap. Recruited in 2008 as CEO, Moore drove transformational change by consolidating multiple locations into a single corporate culture, hiring globally competitive talent and managing through a cyclical downturn.
Moore began his career in the transportation industry in 1984 with Sea-Land Service, Inc., which was ultimately acquired by Maersk. He was responsible for the global sales operations in 33 countries throughout Europe and Africa and the record growth of the trade-lane operations in Asia, the Middle East and Europe, having brought the S-Class ships into service. He also held key management roles in pricing and logistics.
In 2005, after 21 years at Maersk Sea-Land, Moore joined DP World, a global port and container handling company with more than 65 marine terminals across six continents. Moore managed the entire commercial operation including sales, marketing and public relations globally.
Moore attended The University of Oregon, majoring in U.S. history and literature.
About Tradepoint Atlantic
The 3,100-acre industrial site in Baltimore County offers a gateway to markets around the United States and the world, featuring an unmatched combination of access to deep-water berths, rails and highways. Ground-breaking agreements signed with federal and state environmental regulators in 2014 to remediate the legacy from a century of steel-making enable the redevelopment of the site with the potential to become one of North America’s most strategic multi-modal, multi-commodity terminals.
