Baltimore City Council President Jack Young’s service as City Council President began when he was appointed in February 2010 to fill the remaining term of former Council
President Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, who was elevated to the role of mayor. He was elected to his first full term in 2011. A native of East Baltimore, Council President Young served as chairman of the City Council’s Public Safety and Health Committees from 2007 to 2010. He has more than two decades of experience serving on the City Council.
