Join regional business leaders for a conversation with Al Hutchinson about the future of tourism in Baltimore, marketing strategy to recruit large conventions and the business community's role.

Hutchinson, who joined Visit Baltimore as President and CEO in November 2016, brings more than 24 years of experience in the hospitality and destination marketing industry to Baltimore, most recently serving as President and CEO of Visit Mobile.

He is responsible for overseeing the promotion of the Baltimore region as a destination for conventions, meetings, leisure visits, day-trips, group tours and family reunions, in addition to serving as the hospitality industry’s liaison to the business, civic and local community, and demonstrating the impact of tourism on the city and the state.

Prior to joining Visit Mobile, Hutchinson served as the Vice President of Convention Sales and Services at the Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau where, for more than 11 years, he led the convention sales and services team, directed the advertising agency and worked closely with community leaders, industry decision maker, elected officials and tourism partners. Hutchinson has also held previous leadership positions with the Greater Pittsburgh Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Charlotte Convention Center, the Park Hotel in Charlotte and the Richmond Metropolitan CVB.

Hutchinson is a graduate of the University of Alabama and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Destination Marketing Association International’s (DMAI) Destination & Travel Foundation; United States Travel Association (USTA); and is also a member of Religious Conference Management Association’s (RCMA) Executive Supplier Council. In the local community, Hutchinson serves on the Baltimore Hotel Corporation Board, the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore’s Board, and the Visit Baltimore Education & Training Foundation Board, in addition to leading the Baltimore Convention & Tourism Board, which oversees both Visit Baltimore and the Baltimore Convention Center seamless and effective sales process.
Hutchinson is married to wife, Unae Hutchinson and has two children, Asia and Jalen.

Scott Burger serves as President of the Americas for PANDORA, a global leader in the design,

manufacture and marketing of hand-finished, modern jewelry made from genuine materials at
affordable prices. In this role, Scott leads strategy and oversees all aspects of the business for
the company’s largest market, accounting for approximately 45 percent of global sales.

Since assuming the role of President of North America in 2012 and then the Americas in 2013,
Scott has brought focus to three key areas – strategy, talent and operational excellence – with
the goal to guide PANDORA’s evolution from an entrepreneurial organization to a major global
player in fashion and retail. Previously, Scott held multiple roles at PANDORA, including Chief
Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. During this time, he played an integral role in
helping the company go public in 2010, led market development strategies in Canada and
Brazil, and supported other aspects of the company’s globalization strategy.
As a leader, Scott believes strongly his team must start with the end in mind and chart a clear
path to success. He’s proud to have contributed to PANDORA Americas revenue growth from
$95 million to more than $800 million, and he’s confident the brand’s brightest days are still
ahead.

Before joining PANDORA, Scott served as Chief Financial Officer for Dormia, a mattress
manufacturing and wholesale company, where he led the company’s expansion into China.
Prior to that role, Scott served as a Senior Director at Giant Food Industries (Royal Ahold), a
200-store and 28,000-employee global retail organization, where he led financial planning and
analysis.

Scott earned his Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from the University of Baltimore
and his Master of Business Administration from Loyola College.

When Scott isn’t talking jewelry, he enjoys spending time with his family – his wife and six
children ranging from ages two to twelve – traveling, and sipping fine wine.
