Breakfast Briefing: Best practices in diversity in the workplace – June 2017

Join regional business leaders for a conversation with Kate Bishop, MSSA, Education Coordinator for Chase Brexton’s LGBT Health Resource Center. As part of the business community’s growing outreach efforts during Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month in June, learn and share best practices in diversity in the workplace. The conversation will include the ways and whys of serving sexual and gender identity minority clients, customers and colleagues, emerging trends and tips for creating a welcoming workplace and illuminate the business case for diversity and inclusion.

Kate Bishop, Education Coordinator at the LGBT Health Resource Center of Chase Brexton, is certified with GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network) as well as SAGE (Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders). In the past year, the LGBT Health Resource Center has trained nearly 2,000 professionals and recently presented to employers including T. Rowe Price, Morgan Stanley, MedStar Health, BGE, as well as dozens of other for and not-for-profit organizations. Bishop earned a bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies from Hiram College and a master’s degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University.
