Join regional business leaders for a conversation with Baltimore County Executive Don Mohler, who will discuss his experiences since being sworn in as Baltimore County’s 13th executive on May 29, his agenda for the county moving forward and his thoughts on where Baltimore County is headed in 2018 and beyond.
Mohler was appointed Baltimore County Executive by the County Council to complete the term of County Executive Kevin Kamenetz, who died suddenly on May 10, 2018. Upon his selection, Mohler pledged to continue County Executive Kamenetz’s initiatives which include the $1.3 billion Schools for Our Future investment to modernize county school buildings and creating jobs and economic opportunities.
Mohler served as Chief of Staff to two Baltimore County Executives following more than 30 years in Baltimore County Public Schools as Assistant Superintendent, Supervisor, Principal and Teacher. He was Chief of Staff to Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz from 2010 until May 2018. He previously served as Acting Chief of Staff and Communications Director to County Executive Jim Smith.
Mohler’s career with Baltimore County Public Schools includes Executive Director of Student Services, Northeast Area Superintendent, and Assistant Superintendent for Communications and Special Projects.
Students, teachers and staff know him best as Principal of Catonsville High School and Sparrows Point Middle School, Assistant Principal and Guidance Chairman at Dundalk High School, Guidance Counselor and Social Studies Teacher at Lansdowne High School and Social Studies Teacher at St. Mark’s School.
Mohler earned a Doctor of Education from Nova Southeastern University, Master of Education from Loyola University Maryland and Master of Liberal Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees from McDaniel College.
