GBC celebrates 2008 Annual Meeting

A sell-out crowd of more than 900 of the region’s business and civic leaders celebrated GBC’s vision, leadership and accomplishment at its Annual Meeting on May 7.

The event took place at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore with networking, musicians, and even a President George Bush impersonator.

The program featured Chris Matthews, nationally-renowned NBC commentator, analyst and best-selling author.

GBC chairman Atwood “Woody” Collins III discussed strategies on transportation and energy infrastructure.

GBC president and CEO Donald C. Fry reviewed progress on the GBC’s current strategic priorities, which include developing a regional transportation system; nurturing bioscience, life science and technology industry growth; strengthening minority and women-owned businesses in the region; preparing for growth from base realignment and closure (BRAC) and other economic development; and strengthening education resources in the region, to name a few.
