The Greater Baltimore Committee partnered with the League of Women Voters of Baltimore City, WBAL-TV and Maryland Public Television (MPT) to present a live televised forum for Baltimore City mayoral candidates on August 27 at 7 p.m.

GBC president and CEO Donald C. Fry made a statement during the hour-long live broadcast from MPT studios.

“This forum was an opportunity for candidates to address key issues facing voters and the next Baltimore City mayor,” said Fry. The program’s format was intended to promote in-depth discussion of city issues.

The city’s eight mayoral candidates in the Sept. 11 Democratic primary election were invited to participate. They fielded questions from the program’s host, MPT’s Jeff Salkin, and a panel consisting of MPT State Circle reporter Charles Robinson and WBAL-TV reporter Jayne Miller. The forum was also broadcasted live on WBAL-AM radio and an analysis of the forum was streamed live on WBAL’s Web site.

The forum will be rebroadcast on September 2 at 11:30 a.m. on WBAL-TV.
