The GBC has posted its 2010-2011 annual report on the GBC Web site. The report focuses on the work of the GBC during the past year including:
• Publishing Gaining a Competitive Edge: Keys to Economic Growth and Job Creation in Maryland, compiled during a 10-month effort with business leaders and economic development experts. The report offers eight core pillars for a strong business environment;
• Unveiling an innovative vision for a revitalized Inner Harbor including a plan to build a new arena, an expanded convention center, a new hotel, and enhancements to the waterfront experience;
• General Assembly advocacy that included support for “Invest Maryland” legislation and other policies to strengthen Maryland’s business climate and potential for growth; and
• Launching the Statewide Transportation Alliance to Restore the Trust (START), a coalition of transportation advocates formed to protect and enhance Maryland’s funding for transportation infrastructure.
This year’s report details these and other vital GBC initiatives that address the challenges facing our region.
