GBC seeks nominations for region’s third annual Bioscience Awards

The Greater Baltimore Committee is seeking nominations for the third annual Greater Baltimore Region Bioscience Awards to be held on March 18. Nominate a company or individual for an award.

The four award categories are: Entrepreneurial, Best New Product or Progress, Leadership in Bioscience and President’s Award. Nominators will be asked to submit documentation and narratives that fulfill several criteria and then to add other supporting evidence as deemed suitable. Self-nominations are accepted and encouraged. Nominations will close on March 10.

“We want to make sure that the researcher with a marketable idea, the mid-sized medical device company and all in the region’s bioscience industry know that we appreciate the contribution they are making to our economy,” said Donald C. Fry, president and CEO of the Greater Baltimore Committee.

Judges for the awards are: Ravinder Dhallan, M.D./Ph.D., M.B.A., chairman and chief executive officer, Ravgen; Steve Dubin, chief executive officer, Martek Biosciences Corporation; Aaron H. Heifetz, Ph.D., vice president business development, Cognate BioServices, Inc.; James Hughes, vice president research and development, University of Maryland, Baltimore; Shira Kramer, Ph.D., president, Sterilex Corporation; and Mark E. Rapson, CPA, shareholder and leader, Health & Life Science Group, KAWG&F.
