The Greater Baltimore Committee will host the first Greater Baltimore Regional Transportation Summit on June 16.
Prominent national and state elected officials and transportation experts will discuss solutions to address federal and state transportation infrastructure needs including funding, highway, mass transit and regional rapid rail projects, federal transportation authorization in 2009, and the state’s transportation decision-making structure.
Keynote speakers will include Oregon Congressman Earl Blumenauer (invited) and Maryland Senator Benjamin L. Cardin. Panelists will include Anne P. Canby, president, Surface Transportation Policy Project; Maryland Secretary of Transportation John D. Porcari; and Robert Puentes, fellow, Metropolitan Policy Program.
The location of the event will be announced later this week.
