GBC’s Bridging the Gap e-newsletter wins Hermes Creative Award

The Greater Baltimore Committee was named a Gold winner of a 2007 Hermes Creative Award for the GBC’s Bridging the Gap e-newsletter for women-owned and minority-owned businesses.

An international competition for creative professionals, the Hermes Creative Awards honor excellence in concept development, writing and design of traditional and emerging media. The awards recognize outstanding work in the industry while promoting the philanthropic nature of marketing and communication professionals.

The awards process is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, an international organization consisting of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production and free-lance professionals.

The GBC recently issued its inaugural “Bridging the Gap” e-newsletter to more than 3,000 members of the business community throughout the Baltimore region. The goal of the newsletter is to quickly and efficiently distribute important news and events about minority and women-owned businesses to GBC members and affiliates.

Bridging the Gap, one of the top priority initiatives of the GBC, is designed to evolve the business culture by developing and fostering relationships between majority and minority and women-owned businesses in the Baltimore region.

A major priority of the GBC, the program focuses on advancing the economy of Greater Baltimore by increasing the number of opportunities that are available to minority and women-owned businesses. Strategically, the GBC aims to accomplish this by fostering stronger CEO-driven minority business development practices, by communicating the compelling business case for diversity, and by providing minority and women-owned businesses with tools for success.
