Gene Floyd named AACC Trustee Emeritus

The Anne Arundel Community College Board of Trustees on Sept. 8 conferred the status of Trustee Emeritus on Gene E. Floyd of Severna Park for his 18 years of distinguished service and significant and lasting contributions to the college.

Floyd served on the Board of Trustees from July 1, 1990 to June 30, 2008, playing an instrumental role in the creation of AACC at the Glen Burnie Town Center. He was elected board vice chair for fiscal years 1994-97 and board chair for fiscal years 1999-2000. During these periods, Floyd also served as chair of the board’s Nominating Committee and as a member of its Audit and Finance Committee and Facilities Committee. He represented the board at many college events and served as a trustee liaison to the AACC Foundation Inc. Board of Directors.
