Workforce development is an extensive field that spans systems, industries, and stakeholders. Collectively, we can ensure the Greater Baltimore region has a thriving future of inclusive economic growth through a strong talent pipeline of skilled labor. The GBC’s Preparing for the Future: A Regional Workforce Initiative continues to make an impact across the region.
By the numbers, in 2022:
- Over 280+ meetings held for outreach, education and collaborating on the four strategic priorities to improve workforce development in the Region.
- 150 new representatives joined the Preparing for the Future network from across Greater Baltimore and stakeholder groups. This includes over 10+ community colleges and four-year institutions; 20+ federal, state, and local agencies; 9 industries engaged by employers; and 10 community-based organizations focused on specific talent pools.
- More than 55 committee meetings and GBC events were held. This includes a 4-part National Apprenticeship Awareness Week Event Series and 10 Apprenticeship Awareness webinars.
- GBC was invited to 10 meetings and events to act as a subject matter expert.
