The Girl Scouts of Central Maryland’s 2016 Distinguished Women’s Award Celebration is from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on April 21 at the Baltimore Country Club. The event is open to the public and includes light fare and both a silent and live auction. Event proceeds benefit local Girl Scout programming.
The program focus this year is Girl Scouts of Central Maryland’s community programs, which include In-School programming for girls in grades K-8. Currently the council provides programs in 66 local schools that focus on anti-bullying, financial literacy and STEM.

The 2016 Distinguished Women honorees are:
Jody Berg, CEO of Media Works, Ltd., a leading MBE marketing communications firm in the Mid-Atlantic region that specializes in research, planning and buying all facets of media.
Del. Adrienne A. Jones, a member of the Maryland General Assembly since 1997, she represents the 10th Legislative District of Baltimore County and serves as Speaker Pro Tem for the House of Delegates.
Dr. Helene Rodriquez McConnell, is President of SMC, Inc. (dba SMC Business Group), a consulting business offering solutions in strategic communication, organizational development, and program management.
Michele Moore, serves as Area President of Wells Fargo for the Inland Maryland market. She is responsible for over 550 employees in 5 districts and the daily operation of 48 retail banking stores.
Each honoree is paired with a high-school age Girl Scout who spends a day with them at their place of work, learning corporate culture, leadership and gaining insights about the professional world from a woman’s perspective. Event attendees get a glimpse of their experiences during the awards presentation.
