Holiday light show spectacular is back!

The Greater Baltimore Committee’s Inner Harbor light show spectacular is back again this year by popular demand to give vistors to the Power Plant a holiday experience unmatched in the city.

The free show, which runs through New Year’s Eve, features eye-popping projections on the Power Plant buildings, accompanied by a laser light show, high energy music and fireworks. The show previews the GBC’s concept for a year-round entertainment intended to pump up the “fun” element at the Inner Harbor after dark.

Viewers of the light show in 2011 enjoyed the unique nature of the concept and felt pride in Baltimore after seeing the vibrant lights and music against the backdrop of Barnes and Noble, Hard Rock Cafe and Phillip’s Seafood at the Inner Harbor.

“I was recently in town for the holidays and got to witness the marvelous lighting spectacular at the Power Plant. As a native Baltimorean, it made me proud,” Darl Andrew Packard, theater designer and graduate of Goucher College, said.

Beyond local viewers, the show received notoriety in the press. The light show one of the reasons Baltimore was included in the top 10 destinations for holiday lights by Yahoo! Travel.

This year’s show will be presented hourly from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights along other dates throughout December, including every day from Christmas to New Year’s. See the full schedule at
