Hord Coplan Macht, Inc. (HCM), a full-service architecture and landscape architecture firm announced Jan. 11 Tom Spies, AIA, LEED AP joined the firm’s education studio as a principal.
Spies, along with 12 others from CSD Architects, will increase HCM’s capabilities in higher education, public and independent schools, and healthcare design.
“Tom, and these highly talented people are a perfect fit for our firm,” said HCM CEO Lee Coplan. “Their experience balances very well with HCM’s existing portfolios in Healthcare, Institutional and Housing, while enhancing our credentials in the growing college and university market.”
The new HCM employees include senior associates Jim Albert, Jim Determan, Neal Kitt, Bruce Manger, John Morrell and associates Tom Casey and Jeff Kreshtool. Design staff include architects Casey Smith, Chad Bederka, Ed Konski, Scott Walters and interior designer, Leah Wettstein.
In addition to the people joining HCM, a number of contracts and new clients were transferred to the firm, including the Coppin State Physical Education Complex, the Morgan State University Center for Built Environment and Infrastructure Studies, the Towson University Arena, the Frostburg University Lane Center, St. Joseph’s Medical Center, the St. Paul’s School Upper School and multiple projects for Montgomery County Public Schools.
