Jarrettsville Creamery and Deli, a charming ice cream parlor and deli featuring homemade, hand-dipped ice creams and a wide variety of sandwich, lunch and dinner items, celebrated its official Grand Opening May 2.
Although the creamery, which is located at 1747 Jarrettsville Rd., officially opened their doors in October 2009, the belated celebration was a tremendous success.
More than 1,300 patrons attended the event, which included live performances from the local band “Almost Certain,” displays provided by the Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company, a moon bounce and activities provided by “Jump-on-it” of Forest Hill, face painting, games, crafts, hourly raffles and a classic car show curtsey of John Richardson and Group.
“We would like to thank everyone for their support,” said Susan Stevenson, who owns and operates the creamery with her husband Bill. “With special thanks to Almost Certain, Jump-on-it, John Richardson, UTZ snacks, Boars Head, H & S Bakery, Coca-Cola, Keene Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep, and the Jarrettsville Elementary School PTA, who provided tables and chairs for the event.”
“We would also like to acknowledge and thank our dedicated staff of over 20 employees for their hard work and efforts to make the event a success,” said Bill Stevenson. “Most importantly we would like to thank the community for their support during our first six months of operation. With their patronage we have been able to realize our vision for Jarrettsville Creamery and Deli.”
Harford County Executive David Craig and Harford County Councilman Chad Shrodes attended the festivities.
“I am thrilled this small business is thriving in Jarrettsville,” said Shrodes, who is looking forward to frequenting the establishment with his daughter Madelyn. “She can’t have any ice cream yet, but I’m confidant she will be a great customer in a few months,” he added.
Jarrettsville Creamery and Deli is open daily from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Their extensive menu includes over 25 flavors of ice cream, shakes, sundaes, gourmet coffees and teas, fresh salads, made-to-order sandwiches, wraps, and paninis, velvety soups, and a wide selection of deli salads, made daily. In addition, the lively creamery offers home-made ice cream cakes, quarts, fresh candies, jellies, and many other items for retail sale.
