Jill Porter, an experienced and successful professional with more than 25 years in the public sector at the state and federal levels, joined the GBC staff on March 13 as Director of Special Projects.
“Jill has vast experience in governmental operations, public policy, and managing projects,” said GBC president Donald C. Fry. “She has been successful in advocating and negotiating public policy matters and has established a reputation for consensus building.”
Porter has served in the executive branch of Maryland state government for five governors. Previous positions have included service as legislative director for the Maryland State Department of Budget and Management, the Maryland Higher Education Commission, and the Maryland Department of Education.
Porter, a resident of Annapolis, is a graduate of Western Maryland (now McDaniel) College.
