Certified public accounting and consulting firm KatzAbosch announced June 2 it will close its Timonium, Columbia and Bel Air offices on June 3 for its annual all-staff community service day and annual meeting. Regular business hours will resume on June 4 for all offices.
KatzAbosch personnel will be volunteering at several area nonprofit organizations, including the Baltimore County Humane Society, The Loading Dock, Parks & People Foundation, Herring Run Watershed, Maryland Food Bank, and Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc. (Jewish Community Federation) from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Afterward, the staff will convene for its annual meeting at Woodholme Country Club in Pikesville.
“Community service and philanthropic endeavors have always been, and will continue to be, an important part of the KatzAbosch business plan and philosophy,” said Alvin D. Katz, President and CEO of KatzAbosch. “We are proud to devote this day to community outreach as it not only provides us an opportunity to give back to these amazing organizations that do so much good for so many, but also offers a rewarding experience that our team can share together.”
KatzAbosch personnel have been divided into seven teams and will be split amongst the nonprofit organizations selected for volunteer service. Two team leaders were chosen from non-management positions to coordinate, plan and manage the day’s activities for each team.
KatzAbosch will be providing the following volunteer services: helping sort, package and process food with the Maryland Food Bank; set up displays, arrange merchandise and general warehouse services for The Loading Dock; home maintenance for senior citizens for Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc.; site beautification, greenery work and invasive removal at the Gwynn Falls Trail for the Parks & People Foundation and Herring Run Watershed Association; assist with event preparation and a clean-up project around the premises of the Humane Society of Baltimore County.
