Lawmakers, policy experts to gauge session challenges at Jan. 28 GBC forum

 

Two legislative leaders from opposite sides of the aisle, the governor’s chief of staff and an expert on the impact of federal policy on Maryland will preview issues facing state lawmakers in the coming year at the Greater Baltimore Committee’s Maryland General Assembly 2013 Legislative Forum on January 28.

The forum, to begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel, will offer expert perspective to GBC members in the early weeks of the 2013 General Assembly session, which began on January 9.

Speakers at the forum will include:

Matthew D. Gallagher, chief of staff for Governor Martin O’Malley and a top policy advisor to the governor.

Kevin F. Kelly, vice president of Van Scoyoc & Associates, a prominent Washington, D.C.-based government affairs firm. Kelly is also chairman of Maryland’s Federal Facilities Advisory Board.

Senator Richard S. Madaleno, Jr., who serves on the Senate Budget & Taxation Committee, and chairs the committee’s Education, Business and Administration Subcommittee.

Delegate Anthony J. O’Donnell, minority leader of the House of Delegates and a member of the House Environmental Matters Committee.
