Lt. Gov. Brown, Senator Currie, Delegate O�Donnell to offer views of session at GBC Legislative Forum

Lt. Governor Anthony Brown, Senate Budget and Taxation Committee Chairman Ulysses Currie and House Minority Leader Anthony O’Donnell will assess the Maryland General Assembly’s 2007 issues and challenges at the GBC Legislative Forum on January 29 at the Radisson Plaza Lord Baltimore Hotel.

More than 300 Greater Baltimore Committee members and guests are expected to attend the GBC’s first major event of 2007. Registration for the event will begin at 7:30 a.m., with the program beginning at 8 a.m. and concluding at 9:45 a.m.

GBC president and CEO Donald C. Fry will serve as the program’s moderator. Speakers are expected to comment on the policy and politics surrounding business climate issues important to GBC members ranging from life sciences industry growth to the future of transportation funding in Maryland.

GBC priority issues for 2007 include addressing the impact of base realignment and closure, expanding access to health care, continuing funding for Baltimore’s proposed Red and Green transit lines, enacting tax credits to nurture bioscience development, strengthening higher education resources, and expanding the availability of tax credits for the commercial rehabilitation of historic buildings.
