Kelly Stowell, senior property manager with MacKenzie Management Company, LLC, recently joined an elite group of property managers in Maryland, when she received her LEED AP designation from the Green Building Certification Institute. The LEED AP designation is the mark of the most qualified and educated green building professionals in the marketplace today.
As a LEED AP, Stowell will help MacKenzie Management and their third-party property owners, implement sustainable practices and facilitate the LEED certification process for existing buildings. Additionally, Stowell will assist owners in maintaining LEED standards in certified properties.
“We are proud to have a LEED AP on staff,” said Joyce Frank, vice president of MacKenzie Management Company, LLC. “Kelly will apply what she has learned to help develop strategies to improve the performance and sustainability of our buildings.”
Stowell’s accreditation illustrates MacKenzie Management’s continued commitment to environmental stewardship and the promotion of sustainable, energy-efficient buildings.
“We work with a network of eco-friendly vendors, and have found that the implementation of LEED recommendations provide long-term economic benefits for owners and occupants, as well as providing a healthier work environment.” Frank said.
Stowell manages 13 buildings for MacKenzie Management totaling over 900,000 square feet. She is also pursuing her real property administrator designation from the Building Owners’ and Managers’ Association (BOMA).
