McDaniel College announces three new communications and marketing directors

McDaniel College has announced three new communications and marketing directors have recently joined its staff.

Vince Buscemi of Westminster, Md., is director of digital communications and social media overseeing the college’s website, multimedia and social media. Formerly vice president of client services at Mindgrub Technologies, a Baltimore area technology agency specializing in mobile, web and social media, he brings almost 10 years of experience in information technology to this new position at McDaniel. Buscemi received a bachelor’s degree in English from McDaniel College.

Cheryl Knauer of Parkville, Md., has been named director of media relations. At McDaniel, she is responsible for the development and implementation of the college’s ongoing media relations program at the local, regional, and national levels. Knauer previously worked as a senior account executive at Nevins & Associates, a boutique public relations and marketing firm in Hunt Valley, Md. Prior to Nevins & Associates, she served as the media relations director at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and was a public relations associate at the Baltimore Office of Promotion and The Arts. Knauer received a bachelor’s degree in communication, concentration in public relations, and minors in French and women’s studies, from La Salle University in Philadelphia.

• As director of graduate marketing and admissions at McDaniel, Jason Reinfried, of York Springs, Pa., is involved in market research, strategy, and the development and execution of marketing plans, as well as corporate relations and student admissions, for the college’s graduate and professional studies program. Previously a marketing strategist and a workforce training manager at Penn State, he also served as an admissions representative at University of Phoenix. Reinfried is a 2004 graduate of Penn State’s College of Communications and holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in American studies.
