McDaniel College names Gina L. Piellusch as associate vice president for communications and marketing

GINA L. PIELLUSCH

Piellusch is an award-winning communications professional with more than 20 years of experience in developing and administering communication strategies.

At McDaniel, she leads all facets of the college’s comprehensive communications, public relations and marketing program.

Westminster, Md. – McDaniel College announces Gina L. Piellusch as associate vice president for communications and marketing.

At McDaniel, she leads the design, staffing and implementation of McDaniel’s comprehensive communications, public relations and marketing program playing a critical role in advancing the institutional brand.

An award-winning communications professional, Piellusch brings more than 20 years of experience in developing and administering communication strategies. Most recently, she served as director of communications at Northrop Grumman where she was responsible for internal and external relations managing multiple working groups across campuses in the United States and overseas in Italy, Germany and France. She has worked in all facets of communications, including writing, editing, publishing, web design, media relations, crisis communications and advertising.

Piellusch has been actively involved in professional organizations, including the Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communicators, which has recognized her work with Gold and Silver Quill Awards. She has been named a YWCA Phenomenal Woman and honored by Northrop Grumman with the President’s Leadership Award. She has also served on a number of nonprofit boards, including Gender Justice LA, The Outreach Center and as a media circle member of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.

A native Californian, she earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications with an emphasis in public relations from the University of La Verne and completed UCLA’s Anderson School of Business LGBT Leadership Institute. She currently resides in Sykesville, Md.
