A true believer in Baltimore, native son Jason Filippou began his career in the Maryland Department of Commerce, serving in the Governor’s Office of Business Advocacy. More than five years of public service as executive director of the Greektown Community Development Corporation followed and since 2013 Filippou has been a RE/MAX Preferred Realtor in Historical Fells Point.
Because of this career-long belief in and service to Baltimore’s communities, Filippou wanted to join an organization that helps foster strong business relationships and encourages economic development, which lead him directly to the GBC.
Many of Filippou’s real estate clients are executives, local elected officials and government staffers. He recently helped former Baltimore City councilman Jim Kraft with the sale of his longtime home near Patterson Park and the purchase of a new residence in North Baltimore’s Tuxedo Park neighborhood.
“Jason provided the highest-level concierge real estate services for everything I needed,” Kraft said. “My experience with Jason was smooth and efficient. The result was ideal.”
Such results, said Filippou, come with patience and due diligence.
“One of the most important aspects of working in community development— or in any job— is fostering relationships,” said Filippou, who has brought that philosophy with him to the real estate industry.
“Baltimore is my home,” said Filippou, who with his wife is raising two young girls near the Bayview campus of Johns Hopkins. “It’s always a pleasure and an honor to help make it home for others.”
