Palatin Health, the Greater Baltimore Committee’s newest member, is a unique healthcare-focused consultancy. Palatin Health aims to both assist medium-to-large-size medical facilities in the audit and legal processes as well as seek groundbreaking and holistic healthcare and community health solutions.
Palatin Health, a law firm and a consulting agency based in Baltimore, Maryland, takes a business-first approach when advising clients. Palatin Health’s attorneys have worked in the healthcare industry and know how legal and regulatory issues affect the day-to-day operations of healthcare providers. It is with this in mind that they offer clients legal advocacy, executive management and regulatory compliance services.
Palatin Health is owned and operated by Mark Yost, a former healthcare executive and attorney. Yost has extensive experience in the heavily regulated healthcare sector. He brings a wealth of regulatory, government affairs and public policy knowledge in the healthcare and aging fields, most importantly, providing strategic leadership in difficult regulatory predicaments. Yost knows how to turn a negative into a positive, and knows the answer is never that “It can’t be done.”
Yost previously served as CEO of a regional innovative healthcare company. In that role, he oversaw the entirety of healthcare operations in nursing homes, physician practices and other ancillary healthcare companies. Yost helped guide that company through two major acquisitions as well as the record-breaking sale-leaseback of the major assets. He also previously served as the COO and General Counsel of that company.
Prior to that role, Yost managed the government and regulatory affairs for a national retirement community developer and operator. He also served as the Government Affairs Director for a national tourist attraction.
Yost earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and philosophy from Towson University, a master’s degree in public policy from American University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. He lives in Baltimore City with his husband, Kevin.
