Mercy Health Services names Claudia Keenan SVP of Institutional Advancement

Mercy Health Services President & CEO Thomas R. Mullen has announced the appointment of Claudia Keenan as Senior Vice President of Institutional Advancement for the $750 million health system. In that role, Keenan will serve as Executive Director of the Mercy Health Foundation, Mercy Health Services’ philanthropic arm and act as a key liaison to the Baltimore region’s business and nonprofit communities.

“We are very pleased to announce Ms. Keenan’s arrival at Mercy,” Mullen said.  “She brings with her a wealth of talent, experience and a diverse background from both inside and outside the health care arena.”

“Since its founding more than 143 years ago, Mercy has always maintained a special commitment to our local community, especially the poor and underserved,” said Sister Helen Amos, RSM, Executive Chair of the Mercy Health Services Board of Trustees. “Claudia’s work will enable Mercy to strengthen our community service through increased philanthropy supporting our healthcare mission.”

Prior to coming to Mercy, Keenan served as Deputy Director of Advancement and Executive Director of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Foundation in Richmond, VA, and as Vice President for External Relations and Chief of Staff at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk. She has also served as Vice President of Business Development of The New York Botanical Garden as well as the New York City Opera at Lincoln Center.
