The Chesapeake Regional Tech Council and the Tech Council of Maryland announced January 24, 2017 a successful merger of the two councils. The announcement of the new tech council, Maryland Tech Council, was announced at the 29th Annual Maryland Policy and Leadership Dinner at the Annapolis Loews Hotel. Governor Larry Hogan attended to make the big announcement on behalf of the state. The merger is designed to expand and regionalize Maryland’s technology and life science hubs, while also creating a consistent, unified voice for the industries statewide and a platform to attract more companies and leverage synergies.
The team at Mindgrub, in conjunction with a branding committee composed of board members from both councils, created the new logo design and brand vision for the Maryland Tech Council. And Mindgrub’s CEO Todd Marks, who has served as Chesapeake Regional Tech Council’s Vice President of the Board for more than three years, will now serve as the Chairman of Technology for the Maryland Tech Council. Mindgrub will also host a stop on a Tech Roadshow to take place in February/March to kickoff the presence of the new organization for all member companies.
Commented Governor Larry Hogan, “The merger of these two organizations shows the collective strength and impact of Maryland’s tech sector, which is growing every day with new startups and expansions by our companies. Our administration will continue to work closely with these industry leaders to create jobs and advance the innovation, technology, and life science sectors across Maryland.”
