MKS&H partners with CCS for fundraising seminar


MKS&H, a CPA and business consulting firm specializing in nonprofit organizations, will present a fall seminar focusing on the philanthropic landscape and fundraising reporting for 2013 with strategic partner CCS. The breakfast seminar will be held on Thursday, November 8 at Turf Valley Resort and Conference Center in Ellicott City, Md.

The seminar is designed to give nonprofit leaders the information they need to move forward in addressing trends with corporate and individual donors in the upcoming year. It will also provide insight into how nonprofits can better prepare and leverage their financial statements and 990 forms to strengthen their value proposition and mission messaging for stakeholders, donors and watch-groups. The seminar will begin at 8 a.m. with networking and end at 11 a.m. with a question and answer session with the speakers.


Luke Driscoll, Corporate Vice President at CCS
Since 1991, Driscoll has provided counsel and assistance to universities and colleges, secondary schools, medical centers and religious institutions in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States, Bermuda and the UK. He has served on CCS teams that combined have raised more than $500 million. Driscoll has an extensive background conducting capital campaigns, feasibility studies, annual giving programs and endowment fundraising. He is extremely knowledgeable in the areas of public relations, foundations, corporate, planned giving, major gifts research and solicitation, campaign management, telemarketing campaigns, and pledge collection.

Mary-Kay Leary, CPA, MST at MKS&H
As a MKS&H tax partner, Leary has over 20 years of experience assisting nonprofits and individuals regarding tax planning and compliance. She specializes in multi-state taxation issues, structuring the operations of new organizations, planning and consulting regarding Unrelated Business Income Tax (UBIT) and assisting with all nonprofit compliance services, including preparation of Form 990, Form 990-PF, Form 990-T, etc.

Bill Fitzpatrick, CPA at MKS&H
Fitzpatrick has extensive experience in accounting, auditing and business consulting. As an A&A partner with MKS&H, his involvement with nonprofits spans 28 years and includes work for many charitable organizations and community health service providers in the Baltimore area. Fitzpatrick also utilizes his years of experience to consult with nonprofit organizations regarding business improvement, business plan preparation, negotiations, assistance with obtaining financing and capital, and various other corporate matters.
