M&T contributes $100,000 to Baltimore City Public Schools’ fund supporting students, families affected by COVID-19

M&T Bank is contributing $100,000 to the Baltimore City Public Schools’ Fund for Educational Excellence to help feed the city’s students and their family members directly or indirectly affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

M&T, one of the region’s largest corporate givers, joins several Baltimore-area businesses that have given money to the fund so far – totaling more than $1 million to date.

With schools throughout Baltimore City closed due to COVID-19, money raised by the fund will supplement existing local, state and federal food insecurity funding to help provide food to students who typically get their meals at school.

As part of the collaborative effort to help meet the food needs of students, their families and the city’s senior citizens, M&T also is encouraging its employees to consider making a personal donation to the Baltimore Community Foundation’s COVID-19 Food Security Fund.
